What is Born again? The Bible says we are all sinners:
Rom 3:23 For all have sinned, and come short of the glory of God;
This simply means that none of us are good. We are all born sinners, it is not that we can say “I have done nothing to be called a sinner”:
Psalms 51:5 Behold, I was shapen in iniquity; and in sin did my mother conceive me.
Jesus the Son of God was conceived not by a man but by the Holy Spirit:
Luke 1:30-31 And the angel said unto her, Fear not, Mary: for thou hast found favour with God. 31 And, behold, thou shalt conceive in thy womb, and bring forth a son, and shalt call his name JESUS.
This was the immaculate conception that brought a baby in to this world who was sinless. As he grow and did the works of his Father, God, he prepared his life to be a sacrifice for our sins.
God the Father then prepared his son whom he loved to die for a sinful world whom he also loved:
John 19:16-18: Then delivered he him therefore unto them to be crucified. And they took Jesus, and led him away. 17 And he bearing his cross went forth into a place called the place of a skull, which is called in the Hebrew Golgotha: 18 Where they crucified him, and two other with him, on either side one, and Jesus in the midst.
Then three days later he arose from the dead and moved the stone from grave. Death nor the grave could keep him bound. This is important to us since our sin keeps us bound. Jesus broke the chains of death and of bondage and arose from the dead so we could have resurrection life.
Rom 10:9-10 That if thou shalt confess with thy mouth the Lord Jesus, and shalt believe in thine heart that God hath raised him from the dead, thou shalt be saved. 10 For with the heart man believeth unto righteousness; and with the mouth confession is made unto salvation.
Rom 6:23 For the wages of sin is death; but the gift of God is eternal life through Jesus Christ our Lord.
Without the sacrifice of Jesus we are hopeless and destitute and headed for a Devil’s Hell. But through the love of the Father and the sacrifice of his Son we have hope for a better tomorrow an adoption into his family, we are “Born Again” without sin and head to a heavenly home. This is what born again means.
